Psychologist
Denver, CO

Dr. Jessica Reyka, Psy.D., the founder and owner of Grass Roots Healing, LLC, is a firm believer that in order to reconnect and heal, we must first go back to the "root" of the problem or concern, which often stems far back into one's life, and then work towards healing from an inward-out approach. "The stronger our roots are, the more beautiful the leaves that come from the tree"; similar to the process of therapy where we rebuild the foundation from which you view the world and create a life/beliefs/behaviors that are more in alignment with your true values and authentic self. Dr. Reyka's experience involves complex trauma, attachment & relationship issues, anxiety & other mood disorders, adoption-related trauma, & rebuilding skills related to relaxation and stress management. She approaches therapy in a collaborative manner, truly connecting with her clients, listening to their needs/goals, while gently guiding them in healing. Grass Roots Healing, LLC is a safe place for LGBTQIAPK+ individuals & all ethnic and minority groups. We strive to embrace diversity within our practice and therapeutic work. We also strive to bring evidence-based interventions and holistic approaches/modalities into the therapeutic process. We are looking forward to hearing from you!

It seems like doing life got harder. Stress is prevalent, the room clears out. You feel overwhelmed, patience is low and checking out sounds like a good idea. Tired of trying to make everyone happy? Got friends? Love? Expressing confidence is difficult and you question yourself constantly. All of these can lead to depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationships and poor habits and addiction. But they don't have to cause suffering. There are many tools available to you that can help you problem solve, reduce anxious and depressive symptoms, improve relationships and even tools that you can start using right now to find love. I practice from the belief that everyone can have a balanced life. You can have love, friends & even appreciate going to work every day. That anxiety is not to be feared but appreciated. That your mind has the potential to heal naturally given the right tools. My toolbox includes art, mindfulness, somatic techniques, CBT, outdoor therapy and more. The hardest step is to show up to your first session. For many of us it is like the first day of school. Soon, you get to know your teachers and with hard work, you learn, you grow and you move on. Team up with me and you will soon discover that you won't want to go back to the old way of being.

A need to always look put-together and strong can be destructive and exhausting. It seems like the harder you try, the harder it gets. The pressure to appear “all good” invalidates the emotions we all experience as human beings. Living in a culture of toxic positivity only reinforces the idea that negative thoughts and feelings are somehow inherently unhealthy. In therapy, outdated notions are challenged and you will not be invalidated for feeling…anything. Many of my clients have internalized beliefs about who they should and shouldn’t be- and most of these beliefs are false. Therapy is a non-judgmental space where you can truly express yourself without fear of being judged or shamed. Many of the clients I work with identify with being anxious, perfectionists who want better relationships. I also work with adults who know or think they may be on the autism spectrum. Overall, therapy can be great tool to get a better grip on life as well as for treating a specific diagnosis.. Whatever your background, your struggles, your ambitions, we will work together. Feeling better is within reach.

I help Gen-Z and Millennials (15-40 years old) who know in their gut that something is not right with their life to reclaim purpose, find clear direction, and make positive change. If you are feeling lost, excessive stress or overwhelmed, it may not be your fault. Most of us have not been taught how to effectively deal with the stressors and demands of the modern world. You may have tried using self-help books or social media to relieve feelings of discomfort, but continue to struggle nevertheless. Through working together, you will learn new powerful and sustainable tools to thrive and flourish. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Addiction Counselor, and master-level trained mindfulness instructor. My unique approach uses evidenced-based skills that help you learn how to cope with adversity, stressors, and the demands of life. These tools will quickly help you to flourish in work, dating, relationships, school and other facets of your life. I will bring authenticity, honesty, and comic relief to the healing work we do together. Finding a therapist is so much fun! Said no one, ever...We're likely a fit if you feel like others' don't get you/your lifestyle, consider yourself an outlier, or identify with a marginalized community, and/or is a high-risk/risk-taker. Also, if you use substances recreationally, medicinally, spiritually, and/or problematically I'd love to hear more and support your relationship with those substances. Contact me to schedule a free consultation and we can discuss more than what 640 characters allow. Stay rad & be kind. For folx seeking Clinical Supervision for LPC and/or LAC hrs, I ONLY take post-grads. If you found me through the Board of Nursing for SUD assessment, contact me to discuss this process, fee, and I require IN-PERSON evaluation for this. I care for my clients and recognize this is your life, time, finances, and energy. You are the expert in your life and I'm here to help explore what may be getting in the way of your highest self. I am honored to work with someone who has the desire to feel seen, heard, and allowed to be their authentic selves in a judgement-free and supportive environment.

Transitions, even positive ones, often bring up feelings of being out of control. We are more likely to turn on auto pilot and rely on behaviors that don't really promote our own wellbeing. I really enjoy working with folks navigating these stages of life and truly finding peace in riding the waves of life. I have specialized training in disordered eating, anxiety and trauma. I utilize EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral therapy most often in my practice. The most important thing for me is for my client to feel connected and safe exploring their relationship with emotions within the therapeutic relationship. Whether you are totally new to therapy or are just coming back, I meet all my clients wherever they are. You don't need to be ready to make changes to start the process!

I work with young women and LGBTQ+ folks with anxiety, perfectionism, and people-pleasing tendencies. You set goals for yourself that aren’t reachable, and you feel like you’re failing, though from the outside it may look like you have it together. You know that the patterns in your life aren’t working, yet it’s hard to identify what to change and make those changes on your own. It’s a big step to even recognize that you might benefit from therapy. Therapy can help you make those changes so that you can relate differently to yourself, your loved ones, and the stress & loss in your life. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. Together, we can untangle old narratives, identify the things that aren’t working in your life, and develop new coping methods that work for you. Therapy depends on us developing a safe relationship from which we can explore your feelings and concerns. In our therapy sessions, you can expect compassion as well as a focus on practical skills on how to relate differently to the stress and loss in your life. I prioritize developing a safe relationship between the two of us in therapy, from which we discuss your relationships with yourself and with others. My practice is antiracist, LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and HAES informed. I have immediate openings for teletherapy and in-person therapy. In addition to my regular hours (8am-5pm), I can offer evening appointments upon request. You can schedule a free 15-minute video consultation at my website, sierralarsontherapy.com.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years experience, I fully appreciate the importance of finding the right match with a therapist who can offer a compassionate and professional approach to navigating life's challenges. I embrace what may be very painful difficulties as opportunities for positive growth and problem solving, while holding sacred the courage and curiosity it takes to embark upon a very personal therapeutic journey. Being a student inevitably includes personal transformation and growth, not to mention stress and the need for problem solving skills! Getting support, be it brief in nature, or for longer-term emotional regulation, can be invaluable during times of such transition. I offer particular expertise in such areas as: treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma recovery, healing from past abuse/victimization (particularly sexual abuse), and EMDR Therapy, in addition to addressing life transitions, the impacts of social injustice and oppression, and overall stress management and relationship restoration.

You might feel torn between what you want and what everyone else expects from you. You try to make the right choices, keep the peace, and be there for everyone, yet you are left feeling anxious, guilty, and unsure of your own needs. I work with women who feel stuck in relationships, career decisions, and life transitions, and who want to understand themselves more clearly and set healthier boundaries. My work is grounded in CBT, Mindfulness, EMDR, strengths-based therapy, and Trauma Informed care. I pay close attention to the mind-body connection because it often reveals what words cannot. Our goal is to help you feel more like yourself, more confident in your decisions, and more connected to what you truly want. I show up with honesty, compassion, and a little humor. I will support you, challenge you, and call out the patterns that keep showing up so you can stay focused on what matters to you. Are you queer and struggling with body image and food? Or just feeling disconnected from your body? Are you looking for a therapist who gets it—who’s been there? I am an eating disorder therapist who is also queer. Believe it to not, the LGBTQ community is hit hardest when it comes to struggling with our relationship with our bodies. Many of us have had eating disorders, and even more of us struggle significantly with body image. As a trained somatic therapist, I hope to support you to have a better relationship with your body, and to understand the language it speaks—including how trauma may have manifested in your nervous system.
