Hi there, First and foremost, I'm glad that you're getting support for yourself. Life can be challenging and I think therapy benefits everyone. I work best with clients who are open to a collaborative style as I'm most interested in supporting you, in the way that works for you. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have, whether this is your first time in therapy or your 10th.
If you're looking to heal past trauma, mend broken relationships, sort through major life transitions, or just get some general support, I am here to help. I believe that regardless of who you are, what you've done, or what you've been through, you deserve to feel good in your life, and you can feel good. Using the strengths you already have, and tools you may not yet have, together we will find a way forward. My clients say I have a calming presence, and that they feel seen, heard, and understood in sessions.
My journey into the world of mental health services has come through my own struggles with adoption trauma, addiction, and long-term depression. Such conditions have made me an avid researcher of the human mind and heart, and a passionate experimenter of the means by which we transform both. This research and experimentation has (thankfully) fine-tuned my relationship skills and made me fluent in many languages of internal exploration. The most impactful of all of these have been the practices of meditation and somatic psychotherapy. I have spent nearly twenty years exploring them in depth and I would love to share them with you.
Have you been feeling stuck in your relationships, unsure how to speak up for what you really need? Do you find yourself caught between who you are and who you think you’re supposed to be? You deserve a space where you can explore what’s happening internally, with curiosity instead of judgment. As a therapist, I work with individuals and couples navigating trauma recovery, emotional disconnection, and relationship challenges. I have particular expertise supporting survivors of abuse, as well as individuals seeking to deepen their emotional awareness and honest communication skills. No matter where you are in your healing process, I foster a safe, welcoming environment where you can feel grounded and empowered to reclaim your voice.
Many people seek therapy when they are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or struggling to move forward after difficult life experiences. I strive to create a supportive, compassionate space where clients feel comfortable exploring their emotions, building insight, and developing greater confidence in themselves and their relationships. I particularly enjoy working with individuals navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, grief and loss, and major life transitions. My approach to therapy is strengths-based, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s individual needs. I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, and solution-focused techniques to help clients better understand patterns in their lives while building practical tools for change and emotional resilience. I have experience working in crisis intervention, addiction recovery, and supporting college students, and I believe therapy can help people reconnect with their own strengths, sense of purpose, and ability to move forward with greater self-awareness and confidence. I hold a Bachelor of Social Work from North Carolina State University and am completing my Master of Social Work at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs with the goal of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Outside of the office, I enjoy birdwatching, exploring Colorado with my dog and friends, knitting, and finding humor in everyday life. Questions or Need Assistance Booking An Appointment? As a therapist, I offer insight-oriented therapy, which includes deep self-reflection, exploration of your hopes and goals, and artistic exploration. My practice focuses on attachment work, which helps people to strengthen their connection with their truth and authenticity. Being true to ourselves leads to greater self-worth, intuition, empathy, and better relationships. We can more confidently pursue our passions and purpose, and be more clear on our next steps in life. Young adults often see me to address the transition to college or graduation from college. Others are dealing with difficult family dynamics, including situations where their identities or life choices are not accepted or respected by family members. Some are seeking guidance as they develop their professional identity and consider their life trajectory. Others are healing from trauma, including sexual assault or abuse. The tools I draw on when working with young adults include talk therapy and EMDR—and I also find mediums like sand tray and art therapy to be useful. I offer sessions in-office or nature-based. I was raised in a commune-style farm setting in rural Pennsylvania, and earned my BA from Middlebury College and then my MA in counseling psychology from Lesley College. I am currently pursuing her certificate in Modern Psychoanalysis at the Academy for Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis in Livingston, NJ. I am a mother of three and a longtime practitioner of yoga, meditation, and Jin Shin Jyutsu (Japanese acupressure). These practices inform my interest in the well-being of the whole person. I provide a safe and comfortable space where you can explore the parts of your life that you value and also the parts you may want to change. My approach is to cultivate a sense of curiosity and kindness while supporting you in saying whatever is on your mind. As we put our thoughts and feelings into words, we tend to grow more comfortable in ourselves, even in the midst of discomfort. We may find ourselves in more positive relationships at home, at school, and at work. We may find more clarity about how we want to live our lives. Whether in person or online, I see the therapeutic process as a catalyst for reflection, exploration, self-understanding, and personal growth. Together, we will work to understand the richness of who you are and resolve whatever is getting in the way of achieving your personal and professional goals.

Healing is deeply personal, and having the right support can make all the difference. As a licensed therapist with three years of experience, I’m dedicated to helping people across the lifespan navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, burnout, relationship challenges, and the emotional weight that can accumulate over time. Whether you're working through a painful experience, building more confidence in yourself, or simply looking for steadier ground, you'll find a space here that is empathetic, honest, and completely free of judgment. Therapy works best when it feels like a genuine human connection grounded in compassion and respect, and that's exactly what you can expect with me. My goal is to be a steady, supportive presence you feel genuinely comfortable with as you work toward healing, confidence, and personal growth that feel meaningful and lasting. Together, we'll create a supportive, down-to-earth space where you feel heard, understood, and never judged. My approach is warm, collaborative, and flexible, ensuring your healing environment is always tailored to your unique needs, goals, and lived experience. Drawing on evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and EMDR, we'll build healthy coping skills, process difficult experiences, and support your overall emotional well-being to create positive change. Trauma-informed care is central to how I work, and empowering you throughout your healing journey is something I am genuinely passionate about. You set the direction; I'll help you find the way forward. My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by my own experience in therapy and the profound impact of having people truly in my corner during some of the most difficult seasons of my life. Those relationships stayed with me, and they continue to shape how I show up for every person I work with. This foundation deepened my commitment to care that is compassionate, trauma-informed, and centered on each person’s experience. In every session, I bring empathy, honesty, and genuine respect for the process, with the intention of creating a space where you feel safe enough to be real, supported as you are, and encouraged in your own healing. Outside of the therapy room, I find restoration in nature, whether that's going for walks, hiking, biking, or simply being outdoors to unplug and reset. Traveling and exploring new places brings me a lot of joy, as does unhurried time with family and friends. When I'm winding down at the end of the day, you'll likely find me working on a puzzle while listening to a podcast, a simple combination that helps me slow down and recharge.

With non-judgmental, compassionate presence, I offer the collaborative support needed for you to carefully work through these challenges, experience deep level change and live a more satisfying life. My therapeutic approach is focused on supporting your strengths and developing the inner resources you need to cultivate your innate capacity to heal. Relationships (with ourselves or others) are where our deepest hurts and greatest joys live. It is brave to seek support when things feel messy or overwhelming. You don't have to be perfect to lead, love, or live well—you just need to feel steady and supported. With more than 17 years of experience as a contemplative psychotherapist, I support adults and couples in navigating anxiety, transitions (identities, life, and family), relationship and systemic challenges, and a variety of mental health issues. My practice is rooted in the present moment and Buddhist psychology, which means we start from the belief that you already possess an innate wisdom and basic goodness that needs the opportunity to be uncovered. I offer an unconditional presence and a place to explore this freely. If that resonates, I'd love to connect and see if we're a good fit. My Approach to Care I specialize in social power dynamics and Contemplative Psychotherapy, integrating training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other therapeutic modalities, offering a systemic lens that honors your whole identity while helping you navigate internal and external conflicts. Whether repairing trust after betrayal, navigating neurodivergence, exploring the complexities of life and identity transitions, or reclaiming your voice within complex systems, I provide the tools needed for deep healing and self-awareness. While I serve adults with any identity, I especially welcome neurodivergent, trans, queer, people with criminal histories, and polyamorous folks who need a therapist who offers a nonjudgmental and experienced perspective. My passion is supporting others in their human journeys toward power-consciousness and right-relationship with themselves, others, and the larger world around us. This includes navigating conflict, befriending our shadows, and learning more about what is most meaningful to us. Working together, you can expect an open and attentive environment where I prioritize your dignity and sense of belonging. My style is both spacious and direct, and I tailor my approach to your unique needs, orientation, and preferences. A Journey into Exceptional Patient Care When I finally found what gave me the strength & flexibility to hold the distress, it was through my relationship with what I call my rooted self and with those who helped me to cultivate my own personal power, time in the natural world, and what was most meaningful to me (not to someone else or dominant culture). I've come to see that the most powerful healing often happens when we uncover our own inner wisdom with those who hold it with respect & care. I've lived in places across the globe, learning different languages, cultures, and ways of being, always moving in search of answers to the distress and disconnection I felt within and around me. Along the way, I studied books, sought spiritual or mystical experiences, and meditated. I was told to turn toward the distress, discomfort, or dissonance, but it felt overwhelming without the right support or understanding. Most of modernity's structures do not support the connection, space, and care required for such human work. When I finally found what gave me the strength and flexibility to hold the distress, it was through my relationship with what I call my rooted self and with those who helped me cultivate my own personal power, time in the natural world, and what was most meaningful to me (not to someone else or the dominant culture). I've come to see that the most powerful healing often happens when we uncover our own inner wisdom with those who hold it with respect and care. I am a mother to three (two girls and one nonbinary kiddo) and partner to one fabulous trans human. Alongside my family, I enjoy time alone, being in nature, and doing creative things. I love to read, write, and research (even though I'm a recovering academic). While I don't have time anymore for things like Latin dance or martial arts, I try to move as much as I can, mostly through intentional or integrated movement for my hypermobile body, and by taking walks.
