Hi, I’m Annette Godbout, LCSW. I’m a licensed therapist with nearly 6 years of experience supporting individuals of all ages and from all walks of life. I truly believe that everyone possesses the tools within for self-healing and recovery, and I would be honored to walk beside you on your journey. I believe the first step in healing is being given a safe and nonjudgmental space to truly be seen and heard. I give every client a space of warmth, empathy, acceptance, and support. My approach draws from evidence based modalities including EMDR, CBT, and DBT. My unique skillset positions me to help you find your happiest and healthiest self that already exists within. My years working with children in behavioral health, transitioning to teens with complex trauma, and spending the last years working with adults of all ages gives me a robust repertoire to pull from for clients of all ages. Ultimately, everyone is different and there is certainly no “one size fits all” path to healing. I would be thrilled to help you find your path. I specialize in life transitions, emotional regulation, trauma processing and recovery, anxiety, depression, grief work, and overall stress management for the overwhelm that daily life can bring. I bring a client focused approach to my practice helping clients build insight and emotional resilience to evoke long lasting and meaningful change. I’m glad that you are here. The true courage lies in taking the first step.

As humans, we are subjected to the many ups, and downs life throws at us. One of my favorite quotes that I use as a core principle to help clients is, "Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional." Meaning we can choose, and we have to power to regain a rich, full, meaningful life. If you are ready to break old patterns, live a life in the direction of your values, and accept all parts of yourself, then you are already on your path of personal growth. My goal is to walk alongside you through this journey and provide support and empowerment to live a heart-driven, meaningful life. I use a variety of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based (MBCT). I can help you identify and build a value-driven life, help with troubling thoughts and feelings, and utilize mindfulness, to help you connect your mind and body as coping skills to better serve you.

You deserve to live a life on your terms. Sometimes this can seem impossible when experiencing anxiety, depression or low self esteem. You feel stuck. This can make it difficult to make decisions about who you want to be or how to get to where you want to go. My belief is that counseling is an opportunity to gain a deeper sense of personal meaning and allow for more self-understanding, which can help to reduce these intense emotions as well as helping to clarify what you want out of life. My approach is interactive; together we create a space where you are seen, heard, and understood. It is in this space that I will not only listen to your story but also be assessing how your body is reacting to the events in your life. I use mindfulness, cognitive work and EMDR in session, all practices that will help you to learn how to regulate yourself better and ultimately allow for healing from past traumatic or uncomfortable experiences.

What if getting better didn't mean spending years talking about everything that's ever gone wrong? I work with college and grad students to build real, lasting change by providing insight and skills that actually help. With over a decade of clinical work in the US and abroad, I've helped young adults manage anxiety, quiet the perfectionism and imposter syndrome that follow them into every exam and internship, while creating a healthy type of confidence that remains under pressure. My clients describe working with me as supportive, direct, collaborative, and nothing like what they expected therapy to be. We figure out what's driving the pattern. Then we work on changing it. I specialize in: anxiety, burnout and stress, low self-esteem, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. My approach pulls from CBT, ACT, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness, grounded in a trauma-informed model. You don't have to have it figured out to start. Currently offering Online Therapy throughout Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Vermont, and Florida. Whether you are in Boston, NYC, or Denver, I am ready when you are.

Being in college is not like any other time in your life. Some parts of it can be just great and others very challenging and even completely overwhelming at times. It is not at all uncommon for college students to feel anxious, depressed, uncertain about themselves and the future, or to find themselves very challenged by academics, personal identity, thinking of the future, and dealing with complicated relationships of all kinds. I get it! I worked in two university counseling centers before going into private practice and developed a lot of respect for the challenges facing college students. You guys are one of my favorite groups of people to work with, too, because you are in this unique position of usually being fairly newly out of your family home, able to make more choices on your own, and have your whole lives ahead of you to shape the way you want them to be--scary though that is. I'm happy to help you if I can.

My clients are what I like to call "smart, but stuck." If you experience anxiety, OCD, phobias, or panic attacks, you know how you can get tied into knots trying to arrange your life to control fearful thoughts and feelings. You might find yourself getting stuck in overthinking, repetitive actions, research, reassurance seeking, and avoidance of people, places, and situations that you used to enjoy. I help people get liberated from anxiety by getting unstuck from what doesn't work.

Meaning-Making & Life Transitions | Anxiety, Grief, and Healing There are times in life when the questions feel too big: Why does everything feel so disconnected from what I imagined? How do I keep moving forward when I’m not sure where to go? If you’ve built a life that looks good on the outside but feels off on the inside, you’re not alone. Maybe you’ve spent years pushing forward, staying busy, and doing what’s expected—only to find yourself feeling restless, anxious, or disconnected from what once drove you. Or maybe something big has shifted—grief, a transition, an unexpected change—and suddenly, the certainty you once relied on isn’t there anymore. I understand this because I’ve lived it. Losing both of my parents during some of the most formative years of my life left me grappling with a depth of grief and confusion I wasn’t prepared for. In my late teens and early adulthood, I had to figure out how to keep going while everything around me was shifting. It was a messy, painful journey that took me to the darkest corners of myself, forcing me to confront emotions I hadn’t even realized I was carrying. And through it, I eventually learned that healing doesn’t come from pushing through or pretending to be okay. It comes from creating space for what’s real—sitting with it, learning from it, and finding a way forward, even when it feels impossible. My approach is grounded in the belief that healing isn’t about fixing what’s “broken,” but about understanding yourself in new ways. It’s about reconnecting with who you truly are, even when life has pulled you off course. In my practice, I offer a space for you to process what’s beneath the surface—without pressure, without judgment. Whether you’re navigating grief, dealing with anxiety, or facing a life transition that’s left you questioning everything, therapy can help you make sense of it. Healing with me isn’t about quick fixes; it’s about deep exploration, vulnerability, and learning how to reconnect with yourself and what truly matters to you. If any of this resonates, I’m here to walk with you through it—helping you rediscover clarity, confidence, and the courage to move forward in a way that feels right for you. Gabrielle Samo, MA, LPCC, earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University and understands that navigating life’s challenges can feel overwhelming. Her approach combines practical tools to help make sense of things (because sometimes we need a map) with the space to sit with what’s hard (because not everything can—or should—be fixed right away). Her work is informed by experience supporting individuals with chronic and terminal illnesses, as well as years of hospice volunteer work. Gabrielle Samo is supervised by Michelle Fagan, LPC #0016337.

My therapeutic approach is insight-oriented, relational, and collaborative. I work with adults, couples, and adolescents to make meaningful changes in their lives. Together, we will take the time to get to the heart of your story and uncover deep-rooted emotional patterns. I specialize in anxiety, depression, identity issues, relationship issues, and self-esteem. I use psychodynamic theory to explore how our early experiences impact our current functioning, and I see the therapeutic relationship as a corrective experience to heal our early attachment wounds. In our work together, I will gently challenge you to say the unsayable, learn to trust yourself, get out of your own way, and discover new ways to relate to yourself and others. I am a Licensed Social Worker in private practice in Denver, Colorado. I earned my Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Family Systems as well as a post-graduate certificate in trauma therapy from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work. I also completed a post-graduate program in Marriage and Family therapy at Denver Family Institute.

I approach therapy with a client-centered framework to let you determine what path your journey is taking. We will create a relationship together where I can be your mirror and reflect your innate wisdom that life's stress and trauma has obscured. Lasting change is created through this empowerment that gives you the strength and awareness to deepen personal resilience. I blend a model of evidence-based therapeutic techniques with non-traditional spiritual knowledge and practices like mindfulness. Through compassion, present-moment focus, and somatic guidance, I offer support unique to what you need for your individual situation. I specialized in working with those with chronic pain, illness, and health concerns, but also have particular attunement to those with trauma and PTSD. I offer an integrative, mind-body approach which utilizes methods like ACT, MBSR, MBCT, and DBT. Together we can tailor an environment of safety and stability where you can start your healing and growth.
