I work with non-linear thinkers who are searching for a therapist with intuitive wisdom who cherishes the divergent path. I specializes in connecting with ADHDers who have always felt different even if others couldn't tell. My clients are notoriously curious and adept improvisors, who are playfully creative, but they still feel perpetually out-of-sync with the world around them. They charm others with their insight and levity, and save the biting criticisms for themselves. So they end up feeling like anxious imposters, waiting to be exposed. Acquiescing to others has helped you get by without too many catastrophes, but deep down you can't keep convincing yourself that you're okay with just getting by. There's a deeper itch that's beckoning you into an alternative way of being. Yes, still different, but personal, integrated, aligned with your soul. I approach therapy as the life-changing work that it is, and while there's a serious commitment to exploring one's psyche, it doesn't mean you or I are required to take ourselves too seriously. Excavating one's own lived experience and the difficulty of navigating a world not built for you is not for the faint of heart, yet we continue to be curious, adapt, and play. I am intentional in creating and holding space for clients to find and share a more authentic version of themselves. Clients are well-met when they bring curiosity about their distinct approach to life, courage to speak what has been left unsaid, and compassion to nurture a deeper truth about themselves.

When you're struggling with an eating disorder, anxiety, or depression, the idea of opening up and trusting another person can be HARD. I know that you've likely heard so many messages throughout your life about what you should do and who you should be, but I don't think that "shoulds" have a place in therapy. Who do you WANT to be? How do you WANT to feel? That is way more important than any shoulds, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you start to find answers to these questions over time. Together, we can unravel those expectations - what you've been told it means to be healthy or successful or fill in the blank - and get to the heart of what really matters to you and what you need. Being a human is messy, and as your therapist, I'll be right there in that space with you as a human first, therapist second. Let's explore what it means to be humans in a world that expects perfection (which doesn't exist!) and pushes you to grind until you're too burned out to do the things you actually want to do. Whether you realize it today or not, you deserve peace. I have many tools in my toolbox to support you, but to me the most important thing I can do is to provide you a safe space to explore your experience in its entirety at your own pace - to build a connection that is strong enough for you to know that I won't judge you or make you bad or wrong for how you are feeling or for using certain behaviors to cope. It's what you've known to do up to this point, so let's put our heads together and find the ways that this has made sense so we can look at it from a place of compassion instead of judgment. This is a shame-free space! I hold a special place in my heart for those who are working towards eating disorder recovery who feel like they aren't sick enough because their body size, race, sexuality, or gender identity don't match what they are seeing on social media under the eating disorder hashtags. All identities are welcome here, and no matter what your circumstances, your concerns are valid, you ARE sick enough, and you deserve compassionate, equitable care. If anything I've said here makes you think "I like her vibe," please don't hesitate to reach out. I would love to chat further about what it would look like for us to work together.

Looking for someone who is non-judgmental, thoughtful, genuine, and active? Then look no further! It would be an honor to help guide you on your journey toward self-healing. My name is Gabrielle Powell and I am an Associate Clinical Social Worker #90673, supervised by Denise M. Williams, LMFT92559. I can also help you align your decision-making with your values, in order to create healthy relationships with yourself and others. I tailor the therapeutic experience to each individual's unique needs, strengths, and circumstances. This is achieved by utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered approach, motivational interviewing, strengths-based approach, and mindfulness techniques. In other words, I am going to show you how to use your strengths to overcome your challenges.
Hey! Iām Afshin ā pronounced āof-sheen,ā like the glimmer in your eye when you realize you're allowed to feel your feelings and still be funny about it. Looking for someone whoās real, queer, neurodivergent-friendly, and actually shows up in the room with you? Iām really glad youāre here. I work with new parents running on crumbs and caffeine, teens navigating identity and pressure, young adults facing messy transitions, and LGBTQIA+ folks tired of translating their experience for people who just donāt get it. I pull from Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic, DBT, CBT, and Solution-Focused approaches ā but mostly, I bring curiosity, honesty, humor, and a human-first vibe. I donāt believe in āone-size-fits-allā healing. Some weeks weāre untangling trauma; other weeks, weāre celebrating tiny wins ā like eating a real meal or setting a boundary without the shame. My core values? Radical kindness, transparency, and the belief that being ātoo muchā is a damn superpower. If youāre craving therapy that feels like a mix between a grounding conversation and a gentle push toward who you actually want to be ā letās talk. Iām here when youāre ready.
Whatever difficulty is bringing you into therapy, ultimately it's an opportunity to learn about who you are, and how your personal and intergenerational history is affecting your experience of yourself and how you perceive the world. I work best with people who are hungry for this understanding, so they can untangle themselves from whatever is holding them back from living their best life. The truth can bring immense relief, but it is also often painful. I take seriously the need to create a relationship that is deeply compassionate and supportive, one that feels safe enough that you can confront whatever truth needs to be faced. We are embedded in cultures and political institutions that shape our experience. It is essential to consider larger social forces to fully make sense of our lives, and including these factors in the therapeutic process can help empower you by relating your personal difficulties to systems of power and oppression. Reaching out can be hard. I invite any skepticism or questions you have about me or how I work. I expect to earn your trust and respect, and I won't take it for granted.

At I Heart Therapy, we specialize in helping college students navigate the pressures of young adulthood with compassion and real-world support. Whether youāre struggling with self-esteem, social anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, or finding your identity, our therapists create a warm, judgment-free space where you can process whatās happening and build confidence in who you are. College can be an exciting time of freedom and discoveryābut it can also feel overwhelming, lonely, or uncertain. Between managing academics, relationships, and figuring out your future, itās easy to feel anxious, stuck, or like youāre not measuring up. We understand the college experienceāhow it can bring both independence and insecurityāand weāre here to help you find balance, heal from self-doubt, and feel more grounded and empowered in your next chapter.
My goal is to help you find the freedom to be yourself. Oftentimes, people and circumstances we experience can change the way we perceive ourselves and our life. We can feel like weāve lost our place in the world or lost a sense of who we are or want to be. My goal is to help you to overcome those obstacles through mindset work, problem solving, and boundary setting. You are unique and deserve to be able to express your individuality and live the best life possible.
Many people begin therapy feeling emotionally exhausted, stuck, or unsure of where they belong. This can be especially true for those navigating multiple cultures, identities, and expectations at once. When family values, cultural norms, and personal needs donāt fully align, itās common to feel pulled in different directionsāor to quietly lose touch with yourself. Over time, this strain may show up as burnout, anxiety, relationship stress, or a lingering sense that something isnāt quite right, even if everything looks āfineā on the outside. I take a collaborative, culturally responsive approach to therapy that honors the complexity of your lived experience. I donāt believe there is one ārightā way to feel, heal, or move forwardāespecially when identity, family dynamics, and cultural expectations play such a central role in your life. My work integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, family systems therapy, and person-centered approaches. Together, we will make sense of patterns shaped by your past experiences and relationships while building practical coping skills that support meaningful, sustainable change. I earned my Masterās degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco. During graduate training, I completed my internship at Gateway Public Schools, where I worked with adolescents ages 11ā18. In this role, I supported students navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, and a wide range of family-related and personal challenges, gaining hands-on experience working within complex systems that impact young peopleās emotional well-being. Over time, clients often gain greater emotional clarity, self-trust, and a stronger sense of agencyāfeeling more empowered to live in ways that feel authentic rather than obligatory. Therapy is a space where you donāt have to choose between parts of yourselfāyou can bring all of you into the room. My goal is to create a supportive and affirming therapeutic space where you feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood. We will explore how family dynamics, identity development, and cultural influences have shaped your experiences, while also focusing on what matters most to you moving forward. Outside of therapy, I value humor, perspective, and taking meaningful chances in life. One quote that resonates with me is: āYou miss 100% of the shots you donāt take.ā ā Wayne Gretzky ā Michael Scott. This mindset reflects my belief in growth, courage, and the importance of showing up for yourselfāeven when the next step feels uncertain.
