Mission Statement Live-Conscious.com: Having grown up with a biological mother who's been affected by depression and a health condition type 2 diabete propelled to create a telepsychology delivery services for people to have access to care in remote settings to make mental health service available even for people with any other limitations. Mental health or relational therapy services are critical matters to support families and individuals that are at-risk or compromised state to perform and fulfill daily self-caring and other household and job related tasks. The main reason for the remote therapy services is to provide care even to the people located in distant locations that weekly traveling to an office that is located in a different city is not feasible, for example. Another factor is the protection of both the clients and therapists from cross contamination from viral infections that we are familiar with ever since the Covid breakout in 2020 and thereafter. Ideal Client Type: The clientele best suited for this type of therapy are those who can consent to therapy, understand and communicate in English, including a bilingual in Korean, and being in the age group of between 13 and older. What inspires me to work as a therapist is the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution on a daily basis. As an immigrant woman of color, who is bilingual and bi-cultural, my family’s struggle to achieve mental health despite deep seated stigma and shame illuminated my commitment to work as a therapist. Clients are the owners of their lives, and I respectfully honor their right to self-determination. A basic guiding principle in my therapeutic work is that clients are able to succeed when they choose their goals and their psychological needs are met. As such, it is my job to encourage competence and mastery of their own paths. That is, what works is what works for the client! Trust is the cornerstone that allows positive growth in therapy, which for me includes empathy, validation, and unconditional positive regard of the client. I specialize in treating college students who are dealing with severe anxiety, depression, stress, and complex trauma. Over the years, I have worked with many college students who have found themselves feeling anxious and depressed to the point that they can't continue with school. Many students report going down the same rabbit hole; as the demands of college increase, they become strapped for time and start to neglect their usual self-care routines—eating healthy, exercising, and relaxing. Not surprisingly, their mood becomes poor. Sadly, ignoring these early changes will cause things to get worse. Students then reported no longer enjoying activities that were usually the highlight of their day, feeling exhausted continuously but unable to get a good night’s sleep. Next, their class performance suffers; they sometimes miss classes because they can’t get out of bed. In some cases, students find themselves in a dark place, barely eating, and unable to concentrate enough to read even a short paragraph in their books. It is not uncommon that thoughts begin to circle the same unpleasant memories and nagging fears, resulting in a sense of hopelessness and guilt. The good news is that, In many cases, I have been able to help those individuals feel better and develop the resilience strategies they needed so they could continue with school and graduate successfully.
