Dr. Kurtz is a board certified clinical neuropsychologist who provides comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for adults. She specializes in the assessment of cognitive and behavioral changes associated with a wide range of neurological and medical disorders, including traumatic brain injury and stroke. Dr. Kurtz also has extensive experience evaluating individuals with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, and psychiatric disorders.
Dr. Kurtz’s evaluations are comprised of comprehensive interviews, as well as cognitive and psychological testing, which are integrated to form diagnostic conclusions and practical, detailed recommendations. Each assessment includes a follow-up session where this information is reviewed in detail and any additional questions or concerns are addressed. The goal of these evaluations is to provide each patient with information regarding personal strengths and weaknesses and to help develop ways to enhance daily functioning.
Dr. Kurtz earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey. She completed both her clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship at the VA Maryland Health Care System with specialized training in clinical neuropsychology. Prior to joining CPA, Dr. Kurtz spent several years working as a neuropsychologist at the prestigious MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, DC.
