Sarah Schermerhorn
I believe therapy needs to be as unique as the individual and originate from a place of compassionate and collaborative curiosity. I take an eclectic approach that draws from somatic, dynamic, and relational schools of thought, with the underlying belief that all individuals already possess the ingredients needed to heal. My background predominantly involves working with young and emerging adults, adults, and athletes.
I tend to be quite active in sessions and trust immensely in the profound healing that can come from a genuine therapeutic relationship. Additionally, I advocate for the use yoga and meditation as complementary practices to mental health treatment and self-actualization.
My specialties include working with anxiety, trauma, and life transitions. I have also spent extensive time working with and researching the impact of athletics on identity formation. Please call or email to learn more or schedule an appointment.
