Sam Zhu
I earned my dual B.S. in psychology and sociology from CUNY Hunter College and my M.A. in mental health counseling from CUNY Brooklyn College. I have over 5 years of experience in the mental health field with a wide range of levels including but not limited to depression, anxieties, LGBTQ+ related issues, intersectional identities, intergenerational trauma, and relational & interpersonal difficulties. I am trained in Psychodynamic and CBT Therapy.
I aim to provide a space of acceptance and authenticity in my practice. I believe that therapy should be supportive and collaborative so that you may continue to heal, grow, and empower yourself to lead a life that aligns with your values. My work is informed through a multicultural integrative lens and I work with my clients to explore conflict and tension, navigate internal experiences, and change their narrative to operate more effectively. Therapy is a unique experience for each individual and I adjust my approach and style to account for your unique needs and challenges, while providing a safe, warm, and affirming space.
