Joy Yang
People often come into therapy seeking relief from painful feelings/ patterns, while expressing a desire for change. Making these changes and exploring these patterns can be difficult. Therefore, it's important to find the right person to guide you through this process. I provide a safe, compassionate environment that is supportive and free from judgment. My style incorporates skill building and insight-oriented approaches. By building on insight, incorporating your personal strengths and developing tools for change, we can work to improve your overall functioning, find a deeper understanding of yourself, and foster personal growth.
I provide short-term and long-term therapy to adults who are coping with stress, anxiety, and depression. I specialize in treating college students and young adults contending with issues around relational conflicts, life transitions, self-esteem and identity. I welcome clients of diverse gender identities, sexual orientations, and ethnicities.
At the foundation of my practice is always the relationship with my clients, which is built on mutual trust and active collaboration. Clients describe my approach to therapy as warm, non-judgmental, and relational. I also particularly enjoy working with Asian Americans around cultural and family issues
