Jackie Wolfman
I enjoy working with people who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, rapid mood changes, and/or relationship difficulties. I'm a warm and active therapist with a focus on both increasing understanding and self-compassion and overcoming obstacles and working towards goals.
I also specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills groups for college students, young adults, and professionals. You may benefit from learning DBT skills if you are struggling with your emotions, which could include feeling anxious and/or depressed, experiencing rapid mood changes, feeling numb or empty, or being impulsive in your actions. I enjoy working with students to reduce suffering, stop harmful behaviors, increase positive emotions, and build healthy relationships. I have both telehealth and in-person availability in my office in Belmont Center.
In Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Groups, group members learn and practice new skills to increase self-compassion, improve relationships, manage emotions more effectively, and reduce impulsivity. We focus on four modules of skills: Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation, and Distress Tolerance. I also run advanced DBT skills integration groups (grad groups) for people who already know the skills and want ongoing support to continue apply them to different situations and relationships.
We are also starting a social anxiety skills group to help you learn tools to manage anxiety and boost your confidence.
